These are the main types of the Spic de Griu:
1 BANI
No difficulties - but you can see on the 1 BAN brown and 1 BAN black that the 1 is
centred, while on the 1 BANI brown the 1 iss off-center. This is due to that the plate was
taken from the 1 1/2 BANI, and the 1/2 was scraped away.
For the BAN issues there exists 2 types:
Type 1: Lines around letters BAN goes all the way to the right side
1a/ 18 3/4mm x 24 1/2 mm
1b/ 18 3/4mm x 24 mm
Type 2: Lines around letters BAN stopped by a "white pillar" on right side
5 BANI
Type 1: 3 lines in left column
Type 2: Single line in left column
10 BANI
Type 1: 19 1/2 x 24 1/2 mm
Type 2: 19 1/4 x 24 1/4 mm
Type 3: 19 1/2 x 24 3/4 mm (First issued 4 march 1902, on no wmk stamps)
15 BANI (RED = T1 + T2, BLACK = T2, GREY = T1 + T2, VIOLET = T1)
Type 1: 20 x 24 1/2 mm (Top of centre oval 8
lines / Bold frame)
(15 B red T1 has often colour spots in text ROMANIA)
Type 2: 19 1/4 x 24 1/4 mm (Top of centre oval 7 lines / Thin frame)
(15B red T2 has often breaks in frame and lines over RO)
Without further comments, some variations possible for the 10b value
